John Hawk Insunrated – Meghan Markle upset over not being accepted as a true Hollywood star. She and Prince Harry moved to Montecito, California, for a new life. However, their transition into Hollywood’s inner circle has been difficult. According to Marca, royal author Tom Quinn claims they feel frustrated. They are not seen as “top-tier celebrities” among Hollywood’s elite. Their neighborhood includes stars like Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston.
Since leaving royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan secured lucrative deals. They purchased a luxurious £12 million home in Montecito. They live there with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, their Hollywood journey has not gone as expected. Quinn, author of Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants, shares insights. He explains their struggles in Montecito’s exclusive social circles.
“The truth is Meghan and Harry hate the idea of not being true top-tier stars,” Quinn said. “They must have seen the latest surveys in American media. It shows their star power is fading. People are losing interest in them.”

Despite their fame, Montecito locals do not seem fascinated by them. Many see them as just another wealthy couple in the area. “We leave Harry and Meghan alone,” one resident told The Sun. “There are so many famous people around here. Another rich couple is not a big deal.”
This lack of enthusiasm contrasts with Meghan and Harry’s expectations. They had hoped to be major figures in Hollywood. However, their presence has not made the impact they envisioned. Instead, they face challenges in gaining true recognition among industry elites.
Meghan and Harry faced significant professional hurdles in Hollywood. Their $18 million Spotify deal was canceled after 13 episodes in 31 months. A Spotify executive even called them “grifters.” Their Archetypes podcast did not perform as expected. The streaming giant ended their contract prematurely.
Harry’s Netflix documentary about polo also faced criticism. It was deemed “irrelevant” and failed to enter the platform’s top 10 anywhere. This was a major blow to their Netflix partnership. Their five-year contract with the streaming service expires in August 2025. Their Hollywood future remains uncertain as the deadline approaches.

Meghan’s upcoming cooking show With Love, Meghan was originally scheduled for January. However, a fire in Los Angeles delayed its release to March. A Hollywood insider told MailOnline that this project is crucial. “The show has to be a huge success. It needs to revive their brand.”
The couple is under pressure to prove their value in Hollywood. Their media projects have struggled to maintain public interest. Their upcoming Netflix content is a last opportunity to restore their status.
As their Netflix deal nears its end, their influence in Hollywood remains uncertain. Will they reinvent themselves and regain prominence? Or will their celebrity status continue to decline?
